Vintage knit and crochet patterns

So the Gutenburg project has free books for which the copyright has expired or that are copyright free that they post for people to download. They just posted Handbook of Wool Knitting and Crochet by Anonymous which is full of knit and crochet vintage patterns.

New Art- Moonshine

I really should have been doing my accounts today... Oh well.
Here's the first of my winged unicorn sisters, Moonshine. She's the romantic dreamer of the three, the middle sister.
When I was seven, I always drew her with Flouro yellow hair and tail.... I decided against that colour scheme this time :)

OH MY GOSH I THINK I FINISHED MY WEBSITE

Although there are two or three items that are "coming soon". I'll get on those as soon as I can. Let me know if anyone sees any glitches. Ive looked at it too long to see anything!
Thank you again to Aaron and Jenn for letting me photograph you gorgeous people in my jewelry. And thank you to my fans that sent in photos and let me use them on my site.

As of now I am exhausted. I have been making that website while completing all my wholesale orders and while preparing my jewelry and art for FaerieWorlds next week. Which, I am still planning for.

Who else is going to FaerieWorlds?
Im thinking of doing an you-know-me-from-lj promo thing.

Thank you!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who replied to my post last night about cupcakes :) I really appreciate all your help!

I would've replied to each of you individually but since there were so many replies and my computer isn't running very well, that this would be easier :)

Hot Chocolate S'mores cookies

Photobucket

I made these cookies for a local cookie contest, and while they may not have made it into the top three, they did win me the Best Decorated Cookie prize. This is a great Christmas cookie that I put a little twist on to make it seem more like a summertime treat. Find the recipe and more at my blog.

Australia's Do Not Call register

I thought Brisneylanders might find this useful. I know I'm sick of being harrassed by telemarketers at dinnertime.

I've been looking for an Australian equivalent of the U.S. Do Not Call Register for some time. I picked up a brochure at the post office yesterday promising this very thing!

You can register up to three numbers at a time here.

Until then, you can complain about being called after 8pm on weekdays, after 5pm on Saturdays or at all on Sundays and public holidays! Here's a list of other stuff they shouldn't be doing, and what they are required to tell you if you ask.

Psychic Reading

Hellow my fellow Brisneylanders

Can anyone recommend a "good" Psychic in either the CBD or northside? I want a place that is comfortable, reasonably priced and not too intense (me and the girls want a reading as a bit of fun, not for future planning).

Thanks in advance :)

Theme: My Twist on Indian Chicken (RED!)

I had actually planned on making the traditional tandoori chicken (but baking it rather than grilling it). However, the grocery store failed me and I decided instead to alter the recipe I had. Read more about that at my food blog if you're interested. There's also for how I did the rice and potatoes there.

Anyway, the chicken isn't overwhelmingly red, but even moreso in person it's definately tinted red. And though it wasn't the tandoori I wanted, it was yummy nonetheless, with the perfect amount of spiceyness!

It's a tradition for my mum and I to, during wild rose season, pick wild rose petals (all rose petals are edible, but we prefer the wild ones), candy them, and decorate a cake. The result is lovely, because as the cake sits in the fridge the flavour of the roses seeps into it and gets stronger every day.

Beginnings of a Frau

My foray into German started because I'm in the SCA and retaining for a new reign that is delving into early 16th century craziness.  I've been *going* crazy because late period garb is a little beyond me but I've been trying.  Lots. =)  The first near finished thing I have done is a kampfrau.

This dress is all in linen, with the yellow around the cutwork hand embroidered.  Eventually there will be a chemise (hopefully tomorrow), and an overskirt in the blue linen that the bodice is lined in, with guards and cutwork on the guards.  Unfortunately, not before Pennsic, as I also have tippets, a tabbard, chemise, apron, and hat to make.  And then packing.

Its not perfect at all- the sleeves are supposed to be short and poofy but I failed at that, and I started the cutwork about two inches too low, so the bodice is a bit too long.  Also, I messed up the yellow in the front.  BUT- its a first attempt.  And one of my more complicated efforts.

Kyra just lost a molar! Ewwwwwwww! ;) Kayla is babbling away what sounds like cooing questions---it's been on and off all day. I babble right back.

Kayla actually sat straight up yesterday. She's pretty strong for three months---ok ,closer to four *grin*

I've been working on designs for paintings. :)

hope you all are doing well

Earlier she had  screaming fit because she wanted to be fed NOW. holely moley

Did I ever mention that she screams so loud that she scares ppl away?  no?

we had kayla's baptism brunch at a local restaurant and i went to change her in the ladie's room. she was so calm until i very gently put her down on the changing table and she let out this ear-piercing SCREAM and turned scarlet

that bathroom was busy and everyone cleared out within 20 seconds. when we got out, ppl were leaving the mens room with their ears covered and kayla was blissfully silent like nothing happened. ppl were looking at me like i just beat the crap outta this kid,lol

we got to the banquet room were just my family was and everyone was staring and asked what happened---i just changed her and she had a fit!

everyone could hear her in the restaurant!
